For students of teaching qualifications, the Central Examination and Study Office (ZPA) of the University of Rostock and, from the First State Examination onwards, the Teacher Examination Office of the State of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania (LPA) are responsible.

The ZPA is responsible for all study and examination matters for the modular teaching courses (SPSO's after 2012) up to and including the proof of the admission requirement for the first state examination. In addition, the ZPA, as the office of the examination committees for teacher training courses, represents the interests of teaching students in the examination committees of the University of Rostock.
Note: The Teacher Examination Office MV / Lehrerprüfungsamt MV (LPA) is then responsible for the first and second state examination including registration for the examination.

Teacher Examination Office of the State of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania (LPA) / Lehrerprüfungsamt des Landes Mecklenburg-Vorpommern (LPA)
The LPA is responsible for the modularized teaching positions (SPSO's after 2012) for the first state examination (including application), the second state examination and for advice on examination law for students and applicants for state examinations. The LPA is responsible for all studies and examinations for teaching students according to older, non-modularized SPSO (SPSO before 2012), for the first and second state examination and for advice on examination law.
